Father’s Day

Written for Jeff Cartwright, Chief Revenue Officer, S.i. Systems

One time, I was playing with my son Camden and pretended that I was a bee. 🐝

I flapped my hands as if they were wings, buzzzzzed around the house, and "stung" him with a tickling flick.

I repeat: I did this one time.

Camden now harasses my wife and me daily with the bee routine.

This serves as an important lesson to all the parents out there: the kids are watching us. 👀

I never thought so much about who I wanted to be until two sets of tiny eyes started marking my every move. Now, I think daily about the lessons my dad taught me and what I want to pass on to my kids…

🔹To be humble and down to earth.
🔹To balance making your voice heard with listening to others.
🔹To stay true to your values and principles.
🔹Take your work seriously and not yourself.

What lessons will you carry forward?
